MHP Searching For Man Who Ran From Troopers

PONTOTOC CO., Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is searching for a Choctaw County man, who ran from troopers in Pontotoc County and crashed in Calhoun County.

29 year-old Dustin Lamar Winfield, of Ackerman, is wanted for
felony fleeing and several misdemeanor traffic violations.

Troopers tried to pull Winfield over on Highway 772, near Algoma, on July fourth.

Investigators say he led highway patrolmen into Calhoun County before crashing on County Road 454, near Vardaman.

That’s when Winfield ran from the crash.

Winfield is accused of nearly hitting another trooper during the chase.
