Memphis Teen Killed in Weekend Crash

TIPPAH CO, Miss. (WCBI)-The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a Sunday afternoon crash that claimed the life of a Memphis teen.

Troopers responded to the crash scene on US 72, near Walnut, at 4:42pm. Upon arriving it appeared Mexwayne E Williams, 31, of Memphis, TN, was traveling west bound on US 72, when he apparently lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle overturned in the median.

Williams, and two other passengers, were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

A third passenger, Rikki Brown, 19, of Memphis, TN, died on the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
