Memphis Murder Suspects Caught in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss.- U.S. Marshals announce the arrest of Joshua Trenell and George Bady in Tupelo, Miss. today. Officers from the Oxford and Memphis offices of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force teamed up with officers from the Tupelo Police Department and arrested both suspects, who are wanted in connection with the Dec. 8 murder of Firdous Mawlawi, 19, at the Super 8 Motel in Memphis, Tenn.
U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Mississippi Dennis Erby said, “We are pleased to rid the Northern District of Mississippi of such individuals who would come to our community to hide after being accused of committing such a horrible crime against this young lady.”
Earlier in the day, officers received information that both Trenell and Bady were in the Tupelo area. Accordingly, officers began looking for the suspects, and Trenell was located and arrested without incident at the Motel 6 on McCullough Blvd, in Tupelo. Bady was later found and arrested without incident at an apartment on CR 1562 in Lee County, Miss. Both suspects are en route to the Shelby County Jail in Memphis.
In July 2006, the U.S. Marshals Service established the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The task force covers the entire states of Mississippi and Alabama, New Orleans, and Memphis, Tenn. Primarily, the task force focuses on violent state and federal fugitives. Full-time members of the task force for the Northern District of Mississippi are as follows: U.S. Marshals Service, Mississippi Department of Correction, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Panola County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Tate County Sheriff’s Office.
