YALOBUSHA CO., Miss. – (WCBI)A Coffeeville man may have been watching too much television. Now he’s got to come up with a 500 thousand dollar bond to get out of jail after investigators raided a pot-growing operation at his home.
Yalobusha Sheriff Lance Humphreys says 38-year-old James Earl Sapp is charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Agents found 17 young marijuana plants, growing chemicals, 5 lbs. and 10 guns in a specially designed room in his house and a larger growing shed in the back yard. They also found a makeshift still in a nearby creek. Humphreys says Sapp told deputies he’d made the still after watching the History Channel. He’s being held on $505,000 bond and faces up to 30 years if convicted.
