Man Turns Himself in on Sexual Assault Charge

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -A Columbus man faces charges of Sexual Assault of a child under the age of 14.

29 year old Deandre Hughes surrendered to Columbus Police Wednesday April 12th after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Hughes was left in charge of 2 children at a home in East Columbus, while their mother was at work.

That was when the alleged assault took place.

The child reported the incident to school officials, who alerted Police.

Hughes’ bond is set at $75,000.00
