Man Threatens To Blow Up Clay Sheriff’s Dept., Kill Deputy

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Clay County man is accused of threatening to blow up the sheriff’s department and shoot a deputy.

Issac David Smith, 39, is charged with abusive calls to emergency telephone service and false report of a bomb explosive or weapons of mass destruction.

Sheriff Eddie Scott says Smith called several times complaining about non-emergency issues.

Smith also allegedly called and threatened to “blow up” the sheriff’s department and kill a specific deputy.

Scott says a judge ordered a mental evaluation for Smith at a hearing on Thursday morning.
