Man Struck And Killed In Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville police are investigating an apparent collision with a pedestrian who was struck and killed.

It happened on Highway 82 near the Rockhill Road bridge.

Family members at the scene identify the man as Melvin Yeates and tell WCBI News he lived on Rockhill Road near the overpass.

His body was found in the eastbound lane of 82 early this morning.

Right now investigators are not sure of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
