Video: BREAKING: Man Struck By Train In Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An area man is lucky to be alive tonight, after being hit by a train in Columbus.

Around 8:15 P.M. an unidentified man was walking on or near the tracks in the area of the switch-yard near 7th Avenue North, when he was struck.

The man was found near Peach Street. Witnesses report that the man lost a leg.

He was taken to Baptist Hospital in Columbus with serious injuries, but is expected to be airlifted to another facility.
