Man Pleads to Reduced Charge in Bank Robbery
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man is sentenced to 10 years in prison for trying to rob Cadence Bank on Main Street in Columbus earlier this year.
Jackie Jennings, 57, pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of grand larceny today. He originally was charged with armed robbery after he walked into the main Cadence Branch March 15 and handed a teller a note saying he had a bomb and demanding cash.
He was caught in the bank parking lot.
He has prior convictions for theft in Alabama and DUI in Mississippi.
He was sentenced as a habitual offender meaning he isn’t eligible for early release.
