Man Hit by Car

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating an early Wednesday morning accident that left one man dead on the side of the road.

Choctaw County Coroner Kieth Coleman says, 46 year old George Walker had driven his car off into a ditch one mile south of Highway 9 in Choctaw County just after 5:00a.m. When he tried to flag down an oncoming vehicle for help, he was struck by the car killing him. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are expected to filed against the driver.

The investigation remains on going.
