Man gets 70 Months for Armed Robbery
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo man is sentenced to almost 6 years in prison on federal bank robbery charges.
Matthew Hyde Maynard,26, pleaded guilty in March to the brazen daytime robbery of the Farmers and Merchants Bank on North Gloster in Tupelo last summer.
A federal judge this week sentenced him to 60 months for use of a weapon during a violent crime and 10 months for bank robbery. The 70 months will run concurrent with probation revocation on a cocaine conviction out of Oktibbeha County.
He also can participate in a residential drug and alcohol treatment program. He faced up to 42 years in prison.
