Man Gets 25 Years in Marijuana Case
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man caught with 10 kilos of marijuana will spend 25 years in prison.
A Lowndes County judge sentenced 35-year-old Christopher Grady to 30 years after a jury found him guilty earlier this month. The judge suspended five of the years, leaving 25 to serve. He also was fined $2,000.
Grady’s sentence was enhanced because he has a 2004 cocaine possession conviction.
Grady was caught last year by Lowndes County narcotics agents following a traffic stop. He claimed the drugs stuffed inside a suit case belonged to his brother.
