Man Facing Felony Charges After Two-State Police Chase
LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A high speed chase that started in Lowndes County ends in Lamar County, Alabama early this morning.
Javorose Yarbrough will be charged with felony eluding, felon in possesion of a weapon, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge says Yarbrough eluded a road block at Military Road and Highway 12.
Arledge says the pursuit went into Lamar County and ended on County Road 36.
A Lowndes County patrol car received minor damage after being bumped by Yarbrough vehicle.
Lt. Larry Swearingin broke his hand getting Yarbrough out of the vehicle.
A Sulligent police car was heavily damaged when the chase came to a crashing end.
We are also told a Vernon police vehicle was damaged.
Yarbrough will have to answer to felony possession of a firearm, criminal mischief and attempted assault on an officer charges in Alabama before he can be extridited to Mississippi to face charges in Lowndes County.
