Man Escapes Injury In Montgomery County Accident

MONTGOMERY CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – At 2:15 today Wednesday July 20, 2016 Troopers, along with Winona Fire rescue, were dispatched to a one vehicle accident on Interstate 55 near the 188 mile marker.

The vehicle was a Simi truck driven by 24-yr-old Sherrick Edwards from Shreveport, Louisiana.

Edwards was traveling north on I-55 near the 188 mile marker when he stated he had a blowout.

His truck collided with a guardrail then made a second impact with a bridge and caught fire.

The tractor of the Simi Truck was totally engulfed and completely destroyed.  He was hauling wood framing.  

No injuries were reported in the accident.
