Man charged after fleeing from law enforcement in stolen car
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – One man is behind bars Sunday after allegedly leading law enforcement on a car chase in Starkville Saturday night.
Captain Brett Watson said the driver, Javante Hendrix, has been arrested.
Hendrix was booked into Oktibbeha County Jail with Felony Fleeing of a Law Enforcement Officer and Grand Larceny.
Deputies said he and another passenger were inside a reported stolen vehicle when the chase started.
Deputies attempted to pull over the car, which led to the driver taking off.
The chase ended on Stark Road after the car crashed between Dollar General and a car wash business.
Investigators said the two then fled on foot into Dollar General.
That’s when Hendrix tried to change clothes before he was taken into custody.
Watson says the other passenger has been released.
This is an ongoing investigation.
