Man Arrested After Ramming Chickasaw County Patrol Cars
CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Shots fired on a Webster County road, two Chickasaw County patrol cars damaged and one man is in jail.
Sean Griffin is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and more are possible.
Chickasaw County Sheriff Jim Meyers says an off-duty Webster County deputy saw two vehicles going at a high rate of speed past his home, near Mantee, about 1:30 Friday morning.
Gunshots were heard shortly afterward.
The deputy notified Chickasaw County.
Chickasaw deputies eventually found Griffin and pulled him over on County Road 70, near Woodland.
Meyers says Griffin backed into one cruiser and then drove forward to hit another patrol car, nearly hitting a deputy.
A Webster County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was also damaged.
Meyers says Griffin got out of the vehicle with a box cutter and was tased.
Bond has not been set.
Griffin has multiple prior arrests.
At this point, it’s unclear who was in the other vehicle initially involved.
Griffin’s truck did have three bullet holes.
Webster County Sheriff Tim Mitchell says Griffin has not been charged with a crime in Webster County, as of now.
