Man Arrested On Multiple Charges

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Shots rang out in Oktibbeha County this past Saturday, October 7.

Deputies responded to 193 Old Mayhew Road for a call regarding some reported gunshots.

Upon arrival, deputies heard multiple gunshots coming from a nearby apartment.

When deputies attempted to contact the suspect in the apartment, more rounds were fired.

The suspect, 35 year old, Michael P. Davidson, left the residence on foot and entered a second apartment where he encountered the resident.

After a short struggle with the resident, Davidson was forced from the apartment.

He fled deputies on foot and was apprehended after a short chase.

Davidson was arrested on 2 counts of Shooting into a Dwelling, 1 count of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcment Officer, Burglary of a Dwelling, and Malicious Mischief-Felony.

Subsequent to his arrest, Davidson assaulted two Detention Officers at the Oktibbeha County Jail and was charged with an additional 2 counts of Assault on a Detention Officer.

Davidson was arraigned in Oktibbeha County Justice Court yesterday, October 9, and is being held on an $850,000 bond.

There were no significant injuries sustained in the incident.
