Video: Man Arrested After Dog Dragged By Truck

HOULKA, Miss. (WCBI) – A Houlka man is free on bond after video of a dog being drug down a road, tied to the bumper of a truck, is posted to social media.

Willie Davis, 70, is charged with animal cruelty.

Chickasaw County Sheriff James Meyers says deputies started investigating the incident once they received the video.

Meyers says the incident happened on County Road 9, near Houlka, after the dog had apparently been chasing cattle.

Davis is the only person charged, so far.

He was released on a $500 bond.

The dog is recovering at a Tupelo facility and should make a full recovery, according to Meyers.
