Man accused of threatening Oxford police, leading high-speed chase

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A Mississippi man has been arrested in Tennessee accused of threatening to shoot police officers.

Clay Tatum, 37, was charged with felony fleeing and making terroristic threats.

This all started after Oxford Police said they were at a disturbance call at the Little Caesars on University Avenue.

Tatum allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase before officers were forced to end the pursuit.

Then, police say Tatum made threats to shoot police if they tried to arrest him.

Eventually, U.S. Marshals took over the search for Tatum and found him in Memphis Monday.

Tatum is in the Lafayette County Detention Center with a $250,000 bond.
