MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — A Noxubee county family is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding a missing loved one.
On this Father’s Day, the family hasn’t forgotten about the man they call dad.
It’s been exactly two months since James Sonny McCleod was last seen.
“We’re just at a loss. We are praying and hoping for the best,” said Vernessa Foote, McCleod’s daughter.
The 71-year-old was last seen at his Macon home the morning of April 15th.
Since then, the trail has grown cold.
“We have had no luck of finding him, no information or know where he is or anything,” said Foote.
The family says it was just an ordinary day. McCleod usually walked to town but on April 15th, he never returned home and his wife soon began to worry.
“What we call Macon is town. And nobody up there at his brother’s house had seen him nor had his sister seen him. None of the usual places that he usually goes, nobody had seen him,” said Foote.
As search efforts have continued throughout the past two months, the family is thankful for a community that has shown constant support.
“Church members, community members, just our friends, his friends, the help with the resources like the fire department. We have had great support friends are still calling trying to find out have we heard anything but we just tell them to continue to pray for us because we haven’t heard anything as or yet. And we are still asking for your prayers and support,” said Brindle Ashford, McCleod’s daughter.
And as the investigation continues, the family has one more plea for their loved one.
“And we want you to know that we love you and miss you and happy Father’s Day,” said Kimmie Jones, niece of Mr. McCleod.
“If you’re watching this Sonny please give us a call and let us know that you are safe,” Ashford said.
“So if you know anything, please, please contact us, contact the police,” said Foote.
“Sonny, where ever you’re at, we love you,” said Keith Walker, nephew of Mr. McCleod.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Mr McCleod, contact state or local law enforcement.
