Maben Hit & Run Victim Dies

MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) – A Maben man hit by a vehicle in October 2015 has died.

Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt says Nick Ray Lewis died as a result of complications from the hit and run crash.

Lewis was riding his bike on Maben Bell School House Road when he was hit.

Initially, he was taken to a Tupelo hospital.

Lewis was well known in the community.

Days after the crash, Charles Privett Junior of Eupora was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Oktibbeha County investigators say they are consulting with the district attorney’s office to see if there will be any upgraded charges against Privett.

Funeral services for Privett are Wednesday at Maben First Baptist Church at 2 PM.
