Video: Maben Drug Bust Lands 12 In Jail

MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) – A large drug bust in Maben sends a dozen people to jail Tuesday.

Demond Moncrief, 30, is charged with two counts of sale of marijuana.

Webster County Sheriff Tim Mitchell says two guns, marijuana and paraphernalia were seized in the raid.

Moncrief remained in the Webster County jail Tuesday afternoon. His bond had not been set.

Meanwhile, 11 other people were taken to the Oktibbeha County jail during the same operation.

Oktibbeha County Sheriff Steve Gladney says five houses were raided after a year and a half investigation.

Three thousand dollars, marijuana and guns were recovered. Three cars were also seized.

“It was a big operation, going on. We made numerous buys at these houses and the result is what you see now,” said Gladney as he stood over evidence.

Raven Johnson, 21, of 144 Roosevelt St., Maben, MS on one count sale of
marijuana $5,000.00
Tommy Williams, 38, 26 Roosevelt St. Maben, MS on three counts sale of
marijuana $45,000.00
Daimon Taylor, 35, of 55 Roosevelt St., Maben, MS on five counts sale of
cocaine, one count sale of marijuana $55,000.00
Jimmy Roby, 49, of 34 Louise St., Maben, MS, one count sale of cocaine
$5000.00
Clell Gladney, 33, 54 Joiner St., Maben, MS, two counts sale of cocaine,
two counts sale of marijuana $30,000.00
Benjamin Hartsell,21, of 806 University Drive, Starkville, MS, one count
of sale of marijuana, $10,000.00
Mihir Rajesh Patel, 20, of 50 Scenic Road, Starkville, MS, one count sale
of marijuana, $15,000.00 bond
Brianna Darby, 20, of 990 Old Mayhew Road, Starkville, MS, one count sale
of controlled substance, one count sale of marijuana, $10,000.00
Christopher Brooks Ramsey, 29, of 513 Scales St., Starkville, MS one count
sale of marijuana, one count sale of controlled substance, $10,000.00

The Mississippi Highway Patrol SWAT team, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics SWAT team, Mississippi Department of Corrections, Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Starkville Police Department SWAT team, West Point Police Department,  and Maben Police Department assisted in the raid.
