Video: Lowndes Supervisors Table Recreation Manager Hire

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County will wait a little longer before having a full-time Recreation Manager.

The board of supervisors tabled a decision to hire Roger Short on Monday morning.

District 5 Supervisor Leroy Brooks said he was not comfortable making the $36,000 a year hire without a job description for the position.

Lowndes County will manage it’s parks and community centers, as part of an upcoming split from the Columbus-Lowndes Recreation Authority.

Short retired as the executive director of CLRA several years ago.
