Video: Lowndes Holiday Fire

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County family is without a place to call home this Thanksgiving Day.

Neighbors on Treetop Trail just off Hwy 50 near Hwy 373 in Lowndes County say just before 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, they heard a loud explosion. One neighbor called emergency 911, fire fighters were dispatched to the scene.

By the time they got there the Treetop Trail home was fully involved.

The blaze late Wednesday night destroyed the one family home of businessman, insurance agent, and salesman Doug Ferreaz.

Ferreaz and his family were not at home at the time of the blaze.
