Lowndes Deputies Identify Shooting Suspect & Person Of Interest

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County deputies are searching for a suspect and a person of interest in a shooting investigation.

Cortez Rashawn Young, 22, of West Point is wanted for one count of aggravated assault.

Investigators want to talk with Antwon Marquis Williams, 28, also of West Point, in connection with the case.

The shooting happened September 29th in the 3,200 block of Highway 69, near Concourse Road.

Deputies say a man was shot multiple times in his front yard.

The victim told investigators a car stopped on the highway and a stranger got out of the vehicle.

There was an argument between the two men and shots were fired.

The accused gunman ran back to the vehicle and sped off.
