Lowndes County sheriff republican primary runoff election underway
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Polls are open and turnout has been steady in Lowndes County.
The Republican primary runoff for sheriff has fueld a lot of interest at the polls in the county.
Eddie Hawkins and Greg Wright are both on the ballot. The winner will face Anthony Nelson in November.
The race for governor and attorney general is also sparking interest state-wide on the Republican ticket.
There are a few state senate runoff contests on the Democratic ballot, along with several local races.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
