Lowndes County Man Has Conviction Upheld
JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County mans conviction for armed robbery and aggravated assault has been upheld.
The state Court of Appeals upheld the convictions for Edward L. Neal where he was sentenced to 60 years as a habitual offender following his trial in 2010.
In December of 2006 authorities say, Neal robbed 83 year old Samuel Livingston after posing as someone who wanted to rent property from Livingston.
Authorities say, while trying to get away Neal shot Livingston in both legs.
Initially Neal denied involvement but later gave a statement about what happened.
The Appeals Court rejected Neal’s appeal earlier this week.
