Lowndes County man accused of choking ex-girlfriend

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County man was accused of choking his ex-girlfriend, while she was holding a nine-month-old child.

Coby Pittman, 29, was charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence, Kidnapping, and Simple Assault.

Lowndes County detectives said the woman was also held against her will and not allowed to a home on Highway 69.

Eventually, the 24-year-old mother was able to escape with the baby and go to the hospital.

The alleged incident happened on April 29.

Pittman turned himself into deputies on Monday.

He remains in jail.
