Lowndes County, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County Fair has returned after a long absence and you’re invited to attend this fun-filled, family event.
For the first time in several years, the Lowndes County Fair is back! The fairgrounds off Highway 69, in Columbus, are packed with plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Admission is just 2 dollars for adults, and kids get in free on Thursday. This year’s fair includes wrestling matches, games, rides and a free petting zoo. Organizers say it’s a tradition that should be passed down to the next generation.
“It’s just been something that people just don’t see anymore and the kids don’t have the opportunity to get up close anymore. They may see them in passing or on tv but they never get that experience,” says Jane Jordan, President of the Columbus Fair and Livestock Association.
Unlimited rides cost $15 through Friday. On Saturday, you can ride all you want for $20. Parking is free. The Lowndes County Fair will wrap up Saturday night.
