Lowndes County deputies investigate Dollar General robbery
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County deputies were looking for two armed grinches after a Christmas Eve holdup.
The armed robbery happened at Dollar General on Highway 69, near Hughes Road.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said employees of the store were locking up at about 11 p.m. when the two men approached them.
He said the suspects wore all black. One had a handgun and the other had an AR-style rifle.
The employees were forced to open the safe.
The gunmen took cash from the safe and ran from the store.
No one was injured in the incident.
