Lowndes County Constable recovering after serious crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A longtime Lowndes County Constable is improving after a serious crash Monday.

District 1 Lowndes County Constable Willie ” Hoot” West was reportedly in good condition at a Tupelo hospital.

West was seriously injured when his car left the road in a sharp curve on Harrison Road and hit a tree Monday morning.

He was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle but transferred to Tupelo.

The accident is still under investigation.
