Lowndes Co. Coroner identifies victim in Monday afternoon crash
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – We now know the name of the person killed in a Monday afternoon crash in Lowndes County.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant told WCBI that 74-year-old Laura Mitchell Thomas died at the scene.
Thomas was traveling South on Highway 45 when she reportedly lost control of her car, ran off the road, and flipped, before coming to rest near a pond.
The accident happened late Monday afternoon near the intersection of Highway 45 and Grant Farm Road, North of Cal-Kolola Road in Northern Lowndes County.
