Local Newspaper Photographer Dies

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A local newspaper photographer has died this weekend.

Joe Ray Roberson was a military veteran, and worked for the Commercial Dispatch for about 30 years in two stints.

He died Sunday at Community Hospice/Darlington Oaks in Verona.

His visitation will be this Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus from 12 to 2 p.m.

A memorial service will follow, and he will be buried in Friendship Cemetery.

Roberson was 71 years old.
