Local company announces multi-million dollar investment and expansion

BOONEVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) – A Northeast Mississippi company announced a multi-million dollar expansion that will add more jobs and lay the groundwork for future growth.

WCBI’s Allie Martin has more on the homegrown Prentiss County company.

Since its founding in 2018, Critter Brooke Designs has been on a growth spurt.

“We have reached over 15 states, that we have a few hundred accounts in,” said Chief Financial Officer James Bowens.

The company has its own line of Christian themed clothing and they also help other businesses come up with a logo and branding strategy. Graphic artists custom design logos, and put them on everything from business cards, clothes and even 18-wheelers.

While the growth is a blessing, the company quickly outgrew its 15,000 square foot Baldwyn facility and needed more space.

State Representative Tracy Arnold helped Critter Brooke find a 42,000 square foot building in Booneville.

It will be used for storage and shipping.

“We’re reaching out to a marketplace here, providing products and jobs for our local folks, it’s a big footprint,” Rep. Arnold said.

The nearby UPS facility was another big factor in the owner’s decision to spend $2.5 million for the building. It is empty now, but soon it will be filled with finished product, ready to be shipped.  And if they run out of space, there’s room for expansion.

“I think we have an additional nine acres here, so it gives us a really good opportunity to move forward here as we grow,” said Bowens.

Initially, Critter Brooke will have five to eight employees at the new facility.

Critter Brooke should have its new facility up and running by early March.
