Local Business Prepares For WCBI Bridal Showcase, As Employee Looks For The ‘Perfect Wedding Dress’

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) –  Planning for a wedding can be an exciting, and daunting task. This weekend, the 25th Annual “WCBI Bridal showcase” takes place to help prospective brides and take some of the stress out of the planning.

Kay’s Kreations is entering one of its peak times. Many couples were engaged during the Christmas holidays, and prospective brides are looking for that perfect dress. Tori Kimbrell works full time at the Tupelo store, and she is also searching for the special dress for her special day.

“I got engaged this past Saturday, to Trent Priest, we are both from Pontotoc,” Kimbrell said.

Like so many others who come through the door , Tori is in wedding planning mode. And one of the most important items on the to do list, finding the ideal wedding dress.

Working at Kay’s has given Tori a good idea of what she is looking for.

“The more I work here and more I saw dresses and more styles, different lace and different colors, I realize I like the ball gowns, I want to look like Cinderella walking down the aisle, and they have beautiful dresses here that look just like that,” she said.

Of course another important part of any wedding party are outfits for the groom, groomsmen and the best man. There are all kinds of styles and color combinations for them.

“The grey is coming back a lot, and we have a couple shades of blue that is really good right now,” said Kay Faulkenberry, who is owner of Kay’s Kreations.

She says events like this weekend’s Bridal Showcase help not only brides and their families, but also businesses like hers.

“The contacts we make, with brides that may not be from in this local region and we are reaching out to brides basically coming from all over the state,” Faulkenberry said.

Kay says prospective brides can get a lot of things on their to do list checked off at this weekend’s Bridal showcase.

WCBI’s Aundrea Self and Allie Martin will be hosting the fashion show during the big event. For more information, go to our website at wcbi.com.
