Life Sentenced Handed Down In Clay County Murder Trial
CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Clay County jury finds a man guilty of first degree murder.
It took jurors less than an hour to convict Raheem Johnson. He was sentenced to life in prison.
The murder trial started earlier this week.
Johnson and two other men were charged with the February 2015 shooting death of James White on Dixie Road, in Clay County.
Prosecutors say they are thankful the victim’s family can start the healing process.
“There was several people involved. We was able to take one of them to trial and get a guilty verdict. I am happy for the family, more than anything. I know they were patient and let us prosecute the case for a verdict. I am happy the jury gave them justice that they deserve in the memory James Fluffy White,” says District Attorney Scott Colom.
The other two suspects have not gone to trial.
