Leigh Mall auction ends, sells for $3.5 million
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Going once. Going twice.
Leigh Mall in Columbus sold Thursday afternoon for $3.5 million.
The on-line auction at Ten-X website began Tuesday with an opening bid of $1.5 million.
Bids were slow to come in until the final moments of the auction. The sellers allowed the auction window to extend twice in five-minute increments.
The winning bid came with about four minutes left in the extended auction.
The mall was built in 1973. It is listed at nearly 320,000 square feet in a high traffic location.
