Truck Attempts to Pass School Bus, Hits Pedestrian

Press Release from the Mississippi Highway Patrol: “The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating an early morning fatal crash, in Lee County, involving a pedestrian.

Troopers were called to MS 145 near Shannon around 6:30 am. Upon arriving, it appeared a north bound 1997 Ford F150 was attempting to pass a school bus when the vehicle struck Bobby Washington, 49, of Shannon, who was walking on the south bound side of MS 145.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

Washington died on the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

The case is still under investigation.”
