Lee County Child Injured In Nashville Shooting

(NASHVILLE,TN) WCBI – A 9 year old Saltillo child is recovering from a single gunshot wound suffered moments before the start of Nashville Tennessee’s annual fireworks show. Nashville police say 9 year old Elle Smith and her family were standing near FIrst Avenue and Korean Veterans Boulevard Saturday night when the child started complaining  of pain in her shoulder.  That’s when they discovered the gunshot wound.  She was taken to a Nashville hospital with non life threatening  injuries.  Nashville Police say they think Smith may have been hit by a bullet falling from the sky by someone nearby firing into the air to celebrate the holiday.  No suspect has been identified
