Law enforcement looking for Lamar County escaped inmate
LAMAR COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – Lamar County, Alabama law enforcement are searching for an inmate that escaped custody.
Sheriff Hal Allred said Jimmy Randolph, 33, was taken to a doctor’s office for treatment and over powered a jailer.
Another inmate was also injured in the melee.
Randolph is white male and is about 6’0. He has a shaved head and blue eyes.
Allred said Randolph was in jail on a failure to appear charge.
Right now, the search is centered around Ridgeland Manor Apartments, in north Vernon.
Area schools are on a soft lockdown, as a precaution.
