Law enforcement investigates bomb threat report at Tupelo airport
TUPELO, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – At 7:46 a.m. Thursday, December 14, the Tupelo Regional Airport was one of multiple airports nationwide to receive an emailed bomb threat.
Officials from the Tupelo Airport Authority, Tupelo Fire Department, and Tupelo Police Department immediately responded and were in the process of evacuating passengers and airport employees.
The Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation had been notified of the situation, as well. A bomb detection dog was helping in the searching and clearing of airport facilities.
At 10:17 a.m. Officials at the airport were reporting an all-clear on the bomb threat, and they would be getting back to normal operations.
