TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Cool temperatures didn’t keep hundreds from enjoying a massive tailgating party at Tupelo’s Fairpark.
The annual “Pigskins in the Park” featured both the Ole Miss and MSU game, displayed on a Jumbotron screen right in front of City Hall.
Fans of both MSU and Ole Miss were out in force, and of course, some even set up tailgating tents, with lots of food and team decorations.
The event has played a big role in the life of Tupelo’s Mayor.
“Citizens never have to worry about whether I will support Pigskins in the Park. My financee and I were both here last year, this led to our first date, now we’re engaged and will be getting married soon, so I think it’s a life changing event right here in Fairpark, in addition to great SEC football,” Mayor Jason Shelton said.
Pigskins in the Park was sponsored by C Spire and Bancorpsouth. Two i Pad minis were given to the best decorated tailgating tents representing MSU and Ole Miss
