[bitsontherun iVlvyJzq]LAMAR COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – The Knight, The Miller, The Plowman, and The Wife of Bath.
Students at Lamar County High School were in costume Friday (11/2) on the school’s lawn, paying tribute to The Father of English Literature.
The seniors dressed up as their favorite character from Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
Chaucer lived in the 1300s and his tales have been a fixture in British-Lit classes for generations.
The language is from a distant time period, but after their lengthy study these students were able to master their Middle English tongue.
This is the 8th year that students at Lamar County High School have dressed up in honor of Chaucer’s Contributions.
