Lamar County Investigating Missing Woman

LAMAR COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI)- The Lamar County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama are investigating a missing persons case this evening.

63 year-old Mavis Lee Watts, of Vernon, was reported missing by family members around 4PM today.

She was last seen by family, boarding a bus to Tennessee, earlier this week.

Watts’ daughter says she spoke with her mother on Wednesday- but Watts never made it to her destination.

The Sheriff’s department is contacting local authorities in Tennessee to assist in the investigation.
