Lafayette Finishes As 4A Runner Up

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – Lafayette proved many doubters wrong this season. After starting the season 3-5, the Commodores won their remaining games in route to a state championship appearance, but fell 21-6 to Hazlehurst Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The ‘Dores were knocked out of the second round of last year’s playoffs and were attempting to win the school’s third title in the past four years. Lafayette and head coach Eric Robertson finish the season with a 10-6 record.
