ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – The King Community Center in Aberdeen has been a resource in the community for years. Today, it houses the Aberdeen Housing Authority but still provides a place for the community to gather and thrive.
On Monday, the Boys and Girls Scouts in Aberdeen honored the King holiday by singing Happy birthday. They also participated in the Aberdeen motorcade held this morning prior to the NAACP service held in King’s honor. Resident Service Coordinator Robin Moore says the center provides services that help people keep their lives on track.
“The most important to me and most people that come here is the GED classes. If they hadn’t come here, they wouldn’t be able to get a good job or job out of town,” says Moore.
The center also holds meeting for the local Girls and Boys Scout troops.
