Video: Jr. Grand Marshals Selected For Columbus Parade

The Columbus Christmas Parade will have a few extra special guests this year.

For the first time, six junior grand marshals were chosen from a Lowndes County student art contest.

The young winners were selected from 600 applicants in grades K-5.

“Candy Canes and Christmas Carols” was the theme of the contest and this year’s parade.

This year’s grand marshal of the parade will be Santa Clause.

The Columbus Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 14th at 5:30 PM in downtown.

Winners:

Grades K-1: 1st place – Sarah Ross, 2nd place – Reagan Sangster

Grades 2-3: 1st place – Seth Johnston, 2nd place – Fisher Godfrey

Grades 4-5: 1st place – Allie Vance, 2nd place – Leah Dawkins
