Video: Japanese Association Discusses Culture to Rotarians

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Members of the Japanese Association of Mississippi spoke to members of Columbus’ Rotary Club Tuesday.

Officials talked about the growing number of Japanese companies like Yokahama and Toyota.

They also talked about how Mississippi is becoming a great place for Japanese to relocate.

“The so called “southern hospitality” they’re warm. I think the nature of the people. So if we can be nice to them I think they will find out, oh my goodness I think this is a place we’ll send more business in,” said Paul Tashiro.

Tashiro also talked about his history and how he faced challenges assimilating to American culture.
