IRS Scammers Continue To Call Residents

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police say scammers are hard at work.

A number of people are reporting someone from is calling claiming to work for the IRS.

The caller threatens the person with legal action of they don’t pay back taxes.

It’s a common scam in the area. Lee County deputies are reporting similar activity.

If you receive a call, don’t give any personal information.

The IRS will never contact you over the phone.
