Innovate Mississippi Announces Energy Efficiency Workshop Geared Toward Manufacturers
JACKSON, Miss. (Press Release) — Innovate Mississippi announces the Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Workshop will take place Dec. 2, in Jackson at the Mississippi Manufacturers Association.
Energy efficiency is an important, but often overlooked, mechanism for cost savings in the industrial manufacturing, commercial and institutional sectors. The CHP Workshop is designed to provide attendees with the information to evaluate their energy consumption patterns, increase operations efficiency and implement on-site CHP generation.
“Currently, 60 to 70 cents for every dollar of fuel purchased to generate electricity is lost as heat,” said Sumesh Arora, Ph.D., vice president of Innovate Mississippi. “Energy efficient technologies such as combined heat and power can reverse that, literally giving us more bang for each buck.”
Industrial energy efficiency, building a culture of energy efficiency, CHP system components, determining CHP applications in your facility, and CHP user experiences and barriers will all be discussed.
Operations managers, facilities managers, energy efficiency professionals, and business and policy decision makers in the industrial manufacturing, hospital administration and education administration fields are encouraged to attend.
This workshop is hosted by the Mississippi Manufacturers Association in partnership with Innovate Mississippi, InnovateMEP Mississippi, the Mississippi Development Authority’s Energy and National Resource Division and the U.S. Department of Energy.
Tickets are $40 and include breakfast and lunch. Visit www.mma-web.org for more information.
